Carlson Gracie Tonbridge were kindly invited to attend the Roberto Atalla Seminar at Applied Fight Systems, Caterham this Saturday, 6th October.  The seminar was very laid back and provided a wealth of good techniques & positions.  At the end of the seminar Roberto instructed Steve Haydock to fight each of the students, about 25-30 of them, from white to brown belt. Sometime later and after the final fight with Roberto, Steve was awarded his Black Belt.  I think that this is only the second black belt award from Roberto Atalla, his other black belt being awarded in Brazil. 

In addition to this both Jamil Sorougi, Dave Pawan & Matt were awarded their Purple Belts by Roberto.

A fantastic day, thanks Roberto, Steve & the AFS Crew. A very big Carlson Gracie OSS.

Carlsons attended the European Fight Network Southern Open in Reading on Sunday, 30th September.  In all we had a wicked day with the team, including representation from our Hungarian & London Carlson Gracie Brothers.  Team Carlson Gracie picked up some serious medals including two Gold, two Silvers & two Bronze.  Congratulations to all, win or lose thanks for being part of the team.  Big shouts go out to all who fought & supported us on the day, but a massive Carlson Gracie OSS to Lucky “arm of steel” Kooner & Patrick Zimmerman for some impressive first competition fights.  Laurie “Kimura” Dodson for whooping the White Heavyweight Division (Gold Medal) & Dave “Knee on Stomach til you scream” Broughton (Gold Medal).  Thanks to Dickie Martin for the Coaching & Dom & Neal for the continued support. Oh, and thanks Guvna for the endless supply of Chilli Peanuts, which I now regret eating. Finally, nice one to Colin Penn on his Gold.  ”CARLSON GRACIE OSS”.
